CPI(Maoist) disputes YSR's accusation
Special Correspondent
HYDERABAD:
The CPI (Maoist) has disputed the charge of Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy that its front organisations were supplying cadres to the naxalite party and that they were extorting money from irrigation contractors.
In a statement here on Tuesday, the Maoists state unit spokesman, Janardhan, alleged that the diatribe launched by Dr. Rajasekhara Reddy had to be understood in the backdrop of a grand plan to unleash a terror campaign against mass organisations. He questioned as to why the Chief Minister had demanded sending of two more Indian Reserve battalions, when he was of the view that the naxals did not enjoy people's support.
Mr. Janardhan maintained that the Centre was equating the naxalite movement with terrorism only to create confusion among people.
