CHENNAI:
The Madras High Court has declined to grant bail to People's Democratic Party leader Abdul Nasser Maudhany, holding that he could not be released either on medical grounds or on the ground of alleged illegal detention. Justice M. Thanikachalam, dismissing the bail application of Mr. Maudhany on Tuesday, said he was fully satisfied there was no fresh material nor any change of circumstance after the dismissal of his last bail plea warranting reconsideration. He cannot be released either "on the ground that no case was made out or on medical grounds or on the ground of alleged illegal detention or the delay in the disposal of the case (against him)," he said.
