It is an initiative to help the public approaching police stations.

On instructions from the Inspector General of Police, M.S. Jaffar Sait, names and telephone numbers of top police officers have displayed on a board in front of police stations within the city limits.

The objective behind putting up the board is to enable the public contact either the Inspector General of Police, Central Zone, Commissioner of Police, Deputy Commissioners of Police in case the personnel at the police station fails to issue petition receipts. The board also contains the residence numbers of officers.
