ANANTAPUR: A case was registered against a fair price shop dealer of Raketla village in Uravakonda mandal of the district on Tuesday on charge of hoarding large quantity of kerosene and rice meant for public distribution system. Uravakonda MRO Chakrapani and Revenue Inspector Chandrasekhar went to the village on receiving complaints that the FPS dealer Sabia Begum was not supplying the essential commodities to the household supply card-holders in the village in the recent months.
Kerosene, rice seized
During inspection of the dealer's house and godown in the village, 1,540 litres of kerosene and 82 quintals of rice were found stored illegally. The MRO immediately seized the stock. The Government releases 2,255 litres of kerosene and 149 quintals of rice every month to the FPS dealer for supply to 921 card-holders in the village.
