3 die of viral fever

Preventive measures being taken for control of the disease

JEYPORE : A medical team was rushed to the remote tribal village of Ambuliaguda in Bijaghat Gram Panchayat under Narayanapatna Block in Koraput after the death of three children from viral fevers in the last few days. Basudev Nag (6), Bheema Nag (2) and Leelavati Nag (11 months) died at the village. Preventive measures are being taken for the control of the disease.

Wood seized

Around Rs.2 lakhs worth of wood has been seized by forest officials in Mantripet area under Chitrakonda forest range in Malkanagiri district on Saturday. Officials suspect the wood was to be transported illegally to Andhra Pradesh.

MCA courses

The Managing Committee of Vikram Dev College has decided to launch MCA courses in the college from the academic year 2007-08. At a meeting held on Sunday, the committee decided on opening the course with 30 seats . The meeting urged the authorities to fill all vacancies for the posts of lecturers. Managing committee members were present.
