JAIPUR: The Mewat Regional Development Board has approved a proposal to set up 15 new residential schools for girls in Alwar and Bharatpur districts of Rajasthan. The announcement for establishment of these schools was made in this year's Budget speech of Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje in the State Assembly. Mewat Board Chairman Nasru Khan, who presided over the 12th meeting of the Board here on Monday, said the State Government's Public Works Department would construct 10 school buildings in Alwar and five in Bharatpur with monitoring by five-member committees of distinguished local citizens. Mr. Khan said the difficulties faced in the implementation of works sanction by the Board should be stated in its district-level meetings to ensure their prompt redress. State Chief Secretary Anil Vaish said the construction works approved by the Board earlier would be completed in the next three months. Referring to the works to be taken up in future, Mr. Vaish suggested that the land plots without any title dispute should be identified for the purpose and technical proposals formulated before sending the recommendation. Member of Parliament from Alwar, Karan Singh Yadav underlined the need for strengthening the agencies which would run the new girls' schools. The Board also sanctioned a proposal to formally add a few more villages to the Mewat region after a proper assessment.
