On first impression, `The international Anthem of the Third World creeps' could be brushed aside as the jinxed work of a group of youth. On closer thought, the offbeat album of the Cheruvannur-based Stuff Creations, the preview of which was held in Kozhikode on Wednesday, appears as an effort to highlight the manifold issues plaguing the world, the Third World in particular, and humankind as a whole. The organisers claimed that it was a unique expression of people from all fields, on Third World views, and how they could get together in bringing out the album through collective effort. Ramachandran Mokeri, one of the organisers, said they took a stance to highlight vital issues. The album will be screened among the youth and students, despite the language of it being English. Basically, it is a cry, a protest of the helpless, often pushed to the wall with no hope whatsoever. The basic message of the album is evident in the repeated lines of the anthem ``I'm just a Third World country actor' ``We are the stinking Third World creeps.'' ``Just a narrow narrow street, I lead to nowhere land And nowhere songs like this.'' What are emphasised are the hopes lost and dreams unfulfilled. Of war of man against man, nation against nation, and terror against terror. The bombings in Lebanon and the war in Iraq come in for comment. The attempt is also to emphasise the role of Third World nations in a world allegedly dominated by the U.S. The organisers said there was no copyright for the album, and it could be screened by anyone. The music is by Misbabul Huda.
