HUBLI: Nearly 250 delegates are expected to participate in the second Kannada Vijnana Sammelan being held in Dharwad from September 15 to September 17. Addressing presspersons here on Wednesday, acting vice-chancellor of Karnatak University A. Murigeppa said the organisers had received 120 technical papers covering various aspects of science written in Kannada. During the sammelan, which would be inaugurated by Minister for Planning, Small Savings, Science and Technology Ramachandra Gowda, "Dr. Visvesvaraya Vijnana Puraskar" would be presented to C.N.R. Rao, Gangubai Hangal and M.S. Shaila, he said. Swadeshi Vijnana Andolana, Karnataka, in association with Karnatak University, University of Agricultural Sciences and SDM College of Engineering and Technology are organising the second sammelan.
Conference
Dr. Murigeppa said the Department of Sociology of the Karnatak University was organising the sixth Sociological Conference of the Karnataka Sociology Association on October 29 and October 30 with the theme of "Social Dynamics And Transformation: Challenges and Response".
