Call to restart six-party talks

BEIJING: Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang has said China hopes all sides will make efforts to resume the six-party talks on the North Korean nuclear issue as soon as possible. Mr. Qin told a press conference that the situation on the Korean Peninsula was sensitive, adding the sides should focus on pushing for the talks. He appealed to all to avoid any action that may deteriorate the situation. The six-party talks involve China, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), the U.S., the Republic of Korea, Russia and Japan. — Xinhua
