Jitender slams century

HYDERABAD: A century by K. Jitender Goud (100 not out, 18x4, 2x6) was the highlight for Syndicate Bank in its drawn encounter against Balaji Colts in the A-Division (two-day) league cricket championship here.

Easy for Sporting

Secunderabad Sporting Club defeated Deccan Blues 5-2 in the A-2 Division hockey league championship at the Begumpet Police Stadium here. Striker Md. Haseeb (2), Srikanth, Md. Taher and Kiran scored for the winner while Sharath Reddy and Abrar Ahmed reduced the margin.

Bridge tournament

Netball selection

At Vijayawada, The Krishna District Netball Association will hold trials to select the junior teams at Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium on Sept. 16 at 3 p.m., KDNA secretary B. Siva Ram announced here on Wednesday.

The selected teams will take part in the State junior inter-district championship to be held in Kazipet from Sept. 27.

Feroz felicitated

Vijayawada paddler Feroz, who won the cadet boys' title in the recently held State-ranking tournament at Hyderabad, was felicitated at the Mk. Baig Municipal School on Wednesday. District Employment Officer V.H. Naik, District Minority Welfare Officer Sivasankar and headmaster P. Venkateswara Rao congratulated Feroz for his feat.
