Coimbatore: Jeppiar College of Engineering (Chennai) opened its campaign in style scoring comfortable wins in football and basketball in the 14th South India level Karunya Evangeline Memorial sports tournament at the Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences campus here on Wednesday. Jeppiar earned a 2-1 win over Bishop Ambrose College (Coimbatore) in football and followed it up with a resounding 63-20 win over Government Bremen College (Kerala) in basketball. In women's basketball, Jeppiar hammered a hapless Srimathi Indira Gandhi College (Tiruchi) 52-13, while Eswari Engineering College (Chennai) and Sri Narayana Guru College (Kozhikode) notched first round wins at the volleyball courts.
