Mysore bags honours

Mysore: Mysore athletes hogged the limelight by bagging the honours in the men's and women's sections respectively, while it also won the team events (both men and women) in the district-level Dasara sports meet 2006 which concluded at the Chamundivihar Stadium here on Wednesday.

M.G. Chethan Kishore (Mysore) won the gold in the men's 200 metres and 400m and silver in the 100m. D. Dilip Kumar of Mysore won the 1500m and 5000m golds, while M. Vijayshankar (T.N'pura) won the long jump and triple jump golds. In the women's category, G. Rashmi of KR Nagar won the long jump, shot put and javelin titles. S. Shobha of Mysore won the 100m and 200m golds.

Mysore Division men and women won the title in tennis, table tennis, volleyball and hockey. Mysore men emerged the winners inhandball,while KR Nagar won the ball badminton men's title.
