BANGALORE: Indiranagar BC turned a 14-22 half-time deficit into a winning 54-39 verdict over an ageing Central Excise & Customs side in the C Division State basketball league and entered the quarterfinals at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium outdoor courts here on Wednesday. Indiranagar owed its win to the shooting prowess of Naveen (14) and Nandish (10) while Excise, despite K.H. Sridhar's fine effort (11), could not maintain its tempo for the entire duration of the game. In another match, Greens (Davangere) quelled a late burst from Young Friends BC (Kolar) and won 39-38 after trailing 12-17 at the halfway mark. Greens and Davangere's Merchants entered the pre-quarterfinals, while the day's other winners advanced into the last eight round. The results: K.S. Hegde (Mangalore) 46 (Nithin 24) bt Viveks SC 35 (Manjunath 10); Indiranagar 54 (Naveen 14, Nandish 10) bt Central Excise 39 (Sridhar 11, Venkatesh Murthy 11); Greens (Davangere) 39 (Uday Shankar 15, Praveen 10) bt YFBC (Kolar) 38 (Sunil 17, Lava 14); Ambedkar SC 43 (Shreyas Bhandari 16, Karan Sood 10) bt Basavanagudi 23 (Sameer Katti 10); Merchants (Davangere) 41 (Harshvardhana 13, Sandeep 10) bt Ulsoor SC 19.
