ALAPPUZHA: Union Minister for Tourism Ambika Soni will open the beautified beach and canals here to the public at a function on Alappuzha beach on September 28 at 6 p.m. Ministers, MLAs and dignitaries will be present at the function. A reception committee with K.C. Venugopal MLA as the chairman, municipal chairman P.P. Chitharanjan as general convener and District Collector K.R. Muraleedharan as chief coordinator has been set up. Opposition leader in Alappuzha municipality A.A. Shukkoor is the chairman for the committee for cultural rally and A.N. Puram Sivakumar the convener.
