DEHRA DUN: The Central Bureau of Investigation probing the sub-inspectors recruitment scam has filed a charge-sheet in the CBI court against the then State Director-General of Police, P. D. Raturi, and Additional Director-General of Police Rakesh Mittal for having allegedly conspired and tampered the computer records to increase the marks of certain candidates. The matter was referred to the CBI after some of the unsuccessful candidates filed a petition in the High Court at Naini Tal seeking a probe to find out how certain candidates who had scored fewer marks had been given higher marks and selected. A comparison with the computer data of the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee which conducted the examination and the computer data at the State police headquarters here revealed that the marks of seven candidates had been increased. The services of the seven candidates who had become sub-inspectors of police were terminated and Mr Raturi and Mr Mittal relegated to insignificant posts.
