Special Correspondent

Prime accused remanded to two days' police custody; three others released

CHANDIGARH: The prime accused in the alleged "sex scandal'' at Vishwas Public School in Hisar, Rishi Sagar Vishwas, said to be the school's director, has been arrested along with three others who have been identified as Rishi Gautam Vishwas, Rishi Piyush Vishwas and Rishi Pushap Vishwas. Hisar Deputy Commissioner Fateh Singh Dagar said on Wednesday that they were being interrogated by the district police.

Later, Rishi Sagar Vishwas was remanded to two days' police custody while the others were released.

Also, orders under Section 144 Cr. PC had been imposed in the district to maintain peace.

He said the District Education Officer and the Sub-Divisional Education Officer had been directed to gather all facts concerning the alleged molestation of girl students by the director of the school and submit their report at the earliest.

Mr. Dagar said those violating prohibitory orders would be dealt with sternly.

"Those found damaging public property and disturbing peace and tranquillity would invite action."

He also sought the cooperation of the students and their parents in maintaining law and order. An agitated mob had gone on the rampage on Tuesday damaging property of the school.

Meanwhile, Haryana Education Minister Phool Chand Mullana said here that the Vishwas Public School, being run by Vishwas Foundation, was not affiliated to Haryana School Education Board but to the Central Board of Secondary Education.

However, the State Government had issued a show-cause notice to the school management asking it whether any such incident had occurred and, if so, what steps would be taken to prevent recurrence of such incidents.
