Video piracy: one held

CHENNAI:
A special team arrested Ashok and seized empty CDs, a CD writer and other accessories here on Wednesday.
The Video Piracy wing said they arrested V. Ashok (43) of Thiruvallur Nagar Kodungayur after receiving a tip-off.
A search revealed that Ashok was in possession of over 300 Tamil movie CDs and 2,500 empty CD covers. A case under the Copyright Act, 1972 was registered and Ashok was remanded to custody.
Woman, daughter killed
A 22-year-old woman and her four-month-old daughter were found dead at their house in Nehru Colony in Pazhavanthangal on Tuesday. Police said Nalini had reportedly set herself ablaze. Her infant daughter, Yuvasri, had been choked to death. Nalini's elder daughter was reportedly playing outside the house. Police are investigating.
