Campaign to promote blood donation

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In order to encourage participation in blood donation, Terumo Penpol, one of the country's largest manufacturer of blood bags, in association with the National Service Scheme of the University of Kerala, will organise a series of activities in connection with the National Blood Donation Day.

Some of programmes proposed are skit, drama, display of hydrogen balloons with blood donation messages, distribution of leaflets through petrol pumps, installation of arches at prominent locations, scrolling messages through display boards and mobile phones, slogan writing and conducting voluntary blood donation programmes. The 10 best slogan winners from schools and colleges will be rewarded on the blood donation day.

A donors' meeting will also be held on the occasion.

There will also be display of slides, mobile audio visual campaign, competitions in essay writing and quiz for high school and higher secondary and college Students. It has also been decided to conduct education programmes in schools to spread the message of blood donation.
