Students explain principles of mathematics, science



COLOURFUL: A Pookalam being arranged as part of Onam festivities at National Public School, Koramangala.

BANGALORE: Students of the higher primary section of Carmel School, Padmanabhanagar, recently organised a mathematics and science activity. The students explained the principles of mathematics with the help of a computer and three-dimension models. Volume of a cone, volume of a pyramid and application of mathematics in science were some of the principles and formulae explained during the activity. At the science activity, wind energy was explained with the help of a working model.

Festivals celebrated

Students and staff of National Public School, Koramangala, celebrated Ganesh Chathurthi and Onam recently. While children made cards depicting Lord Ganesh in attractive shining shades of pink, green, gold and silver for Ganesh Chathurthi, Onam was celebrated with Pookalam decoration, Kaikottikkali and narration of the story of king Mahabali.

Sports day

Navkis Educational Centre, Gokula, conducted its annual sports day recently. The day began with a colourful march past followed by the lighting of the sports torch. Principal Lalitha Murthy took the salute and administered the oath.

Anand Ram, chairman of the institution, said the activities were part of the curriculum and they help in the all-round development of a child.

Krishna Janmashtami

Krishna Janmashtami was celebrated in a unique way at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's Nagarjuna Vidya Niketan, Yelahanka. Eighteen short stories were enacted, starting from the birth of Lord Krishna to Gitopadesha. The programme was compeered by students of Kindergarten section.

Dental check-up

As part of its Interact Club Community Programme, RBANM's High School (Main) organised a dental check-up camp recently. A team of 12 doctors led by Vasantha and Subhadra of Oxford Dental College examined the students.
