Meet on ageing male

Special Correspondent

Bangalore: Research findings in India and several other countries report that men in the forty-plus age group experience physical problems ranging from obesity to reduced interest in sex. The Second National Conference on the Ageing Male will focus on these problems with the theme "The aging Adam issues, concerns and solutions."

The conference assumes significance because by year 2025, 50 per cent of all men over the age of 65 may be living in India and China, D. Narayana Reddy, President, Indian Andropause Society, said. This means the medical profession has to deal with an age group which was much smaller even 20 years ago. Symptoms of aging can be delayed by health education and preventive medical care.
