Fire-fighting equipment unit at Kinfra park

KOCHI: A 100 per cent export-oriented unit manufacturing fire-fighting equipment will be set up at the Kinfra industrial park at Koratty, in collaboration with the Sharjah-based Dutch Tech Engineering Company Private Ltd. The project is estimated to start commercial production by November 2007, according to Shabeer K. Ibrahim, chairman of the company.

The unit will manufacture fire protection equipments such as hose reels, fire extinguishers, valves, cabinets and emergency lights.

The project will be spread over two acres of land. Estimated to cost Rs. 2 crores, the project will provide direct employment to 75 persons, he said.

The products would be exported to the UAE, the U.K., the U.S. and other countries.
