BANGALORE: Prominent leader of the Vishwakarma community, film producer and television artiste K.P. Nanjundi was injured after a mason allegedly attacked him with a chopper at a construction site in Malleswaram police station limits on Wednesday afternoon.

The police said Mr. Nanjundi, who suffered a head injury, was treated at K.C. General Hospital. He is out of danger.

According to the police, around 1 p.m., Mr. Nanjundi, a resident of Papireddypalya in Nagarabavi, came to Sampige Road where he is constructing a building. He had an argument with a mason, Sreenivasa of Shimoga, over paying wages to labourers.

In a fit of rage, Sreenivasa allegedly hit Mr. Nanjundi on the head with a chopper. Passers-by and labourers rushed an injured Mr. Nanjundi to the hospital.
