SEZ Board meetings scheduled

CHENNAI: The SEZ Board of Approval has scheduled a series of meetings in September and October in New Delhi for processing proposals from various States, besides those for which in-principle approval has already been given.

At the next meeting scheduled on September 21, the board will consider proposals for "ratification" and requests for conversion of in-principle approvals into formal approvals.

Proposals from various States will be considered on the following dates:

Chandigarh, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Goa, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Orissa and Punjab, September 28; Bihar, Haryana, Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh, October 4; Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal, October 6; and Andhra Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Karnatakand Kerala, October 10.

Meanwhile, the Madras Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) is organising a seminar specially focussing on Special Economic Zones on September 16 in Chennai.
