CHENNAI: City-based Digiscape Gallery, a trainer in e-Publishing methods, is organising its third `Talent Search Exam' for a free training and recruitment programme in E-Publishing on September 17, 24 and October 1. It will be conducted in partnership with the city-based NewGen Imaging Systems, a solutions provider for publishing and data services. Application forms are available at Digiscape Gallery, # 2, Wheat Crofts Road, Nungambakkam. The last date for registration for the exam is September 30. Only the first 500 registrants will be issued hall tickets for the `Talent Search Exam.' Application forms are also available at www.cadgraf.com/application. Designed to identify the best talent in various functions of the growing e-Publishing industry, the examination is open to fresh graduates or postgraduates in science, humanities, engineering, life sciences and law with a good knowledge in English. Retired Teachers/Bank employees/Journalists, as well as House Wives looking for career can also apply for the exam. Under this programme, Digiscape Gallery will offer 150 young publishing aspirants, a one-year full time P.G. Diploma in E-Publishing - Copy Editing course that will serve as a gateway to a career with NewGen. Candidates for the positions will be selected and will be given the offer letters with a pay packet of Rs.12, 000 a month. The cost of a full time one year PG Diploma in E-Publishing is Rs. 25,000, which will be sponsored by NewGen. Further, the students will receive an annual stipend of Rs. 84,000 during the first year training period. The selection will be based on the score in the talent search exam and interview. Apart from this, the Talent Search Exam will also identify 100 students for training in Technical Editing, Graphic Editing and Type Setting courses.
