"Coastal Clean Up Day" tomorrow

Pondicherry: Indian Coast Guard has drawn up programmes with the support of Local Administration Department and Pondicherry Pollution Control Board to celebrate Coastal Clean Up Day on September 16. Commandant N. Somasundaram, ICG station Commanding Officer here, said on Thursday that this was the first time that such a programme would be held here. NGOs, the NSS volunteers and local people from coastal villages such as Kalapet, Kuruchikuppam, Solai Nagar, Goubert Avenue, Vambakeerapalayam, Veerampattinam, Nallavadu and Moorthikuppam would be associated with the celebration, he said.
