Mumbai policemen detained

Special Correspondent

KOLKATA: A police team from Mumbai, escorting a batch of six girls to a home run by the Social Welfare Department in Howrah district of West Bengal, was detained on Thursday after one of the girls was reported missing.

Five of the girls were brought to Liluah Home. The home had earlier been informed that six girls were to be expected there. Investigation was on to trace the missing girl, a senior police official said.

The girls also lodged a complaint at the local police station that the Mumbai policemen had misbehaved with them. The Mumbai police had been informed of the incident and the detention of the police team.
