BANGALORE: The bureaucracy must imbibe the corporate working culture of discipline, diligence and devotion to effectively deliver welfare programmes drawn up by the Government for the people's welfare. This is especially needed in the backdrop of liberalisation and globalisation, Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy has said. Inaugurating a two-day conference of principal secretaries and secretaries to the Government, deputy commissioners, chief executive officers of zilla panchayats and top police officials here on Thursday, he said that the administrative machinery should make concerted efforts to plug loopholes and respond to the demands of the new situation. He expressed displeasure that the administration was not responding to the needs of the people in rural areas.
