HYDERABAD: A happening city is all set to host a three-day event between September 20 and 22 here, one that would constitute a unique platform where about 40 venture capitalists (VC) with a combined fund of about $ 5 billion will listen to entrepreneurs make their business pitch. An initiative of The Indus Entrepeneurs (TiE) and Wadhwani Centre for Entrepreneurial Development (WCED), Indian School of Business (ISB), TiE - ISB 2006 will help short-listed start-up companies access to VCs, which include a several from Silicon Valley, UK, West Asia and India. The meet will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy in the presence of Union Minister of State for Defence M.M. Pallam Raju. At a press conference here on Thursday, TiE president J.A. Chowdary said it was not just IT and IT-enabled services companies but companies in sectors like media, animation and entertainment that would be exposed for interaction and business with the VCs.A focus area they said, would be start-up companies in the semi-conductor sector.
