Three-day eye check-up camp

CHECK-UP CAMP: District surgeon Nanda Shinghe inaugurating the three-day free eye check-up camp at the Mcgann Hospital in Shimoga on Thursday.

SHIMOGA: District surgeon Nanda Shinghe called for concerted efforts for the eradication of the blindness.

Inaugurating a three-day free eye check-up and insertion of contact lenses camp organised by the Sri Sthanak Vasi Jain Nava Yuvak Mandal at the Mcgann Hospital here on Thursday she lauded the initiative taken by the Jain youths in organising the camp.

She hoped it would serve as an inspiration for others . Eye surgeon at the Mahaveer Jain Eye Hospital of Bangalore Parvat Solanki who heads the camp urged people to make use of the facilities being extended by the Government for the eradication of blindness.

He said ultra modern methods would be used in the camps to conduct surgical operations. President of the mandal Chandanmal Jain presided over the function.
