CHANDIGARH: Normalcy returned to Hisar on Thursday even though the call for a bandh issued by the Bhartiya Janata Party in protest against alleged sexual exploitation of school girls by the Director of Vishwas School evoked a mixed response. The Indian National Lok Dal staged a demonstration and several of its workers were arrested for violating prohibitory orders. The city was virtually converted into a police camp in the morning. However, students came out in the streets in Narnaund and Hansi towns to register their protest against the shocking incident in Hisar. Sources said that the police resorted to mild use of force to disperse them. Even though the prime accused was arrested swiftly by the local police, the agitators are demanding that the school, being run by a religious organisation, should be taken over by the Haryana Government which should appoint an administrator to restore confidence of the parents and the "victims''. However, sources said that the management of the school was maintaining that an internal inquiry was under way and "things would improve''.
