"Hindi Divas" observed

NEW DELHI: Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) organised a programme here on Thursday to mark "Hindi Divas".

The programme, held under the chairmanship of SSB Director-General Tilak Kak, was aimed at motivating the force personnel to adopt Hindi in their day-to-day official work.

Cultural team returns from Russia

NEW DELHI: A 15-member cultural delegation of Nehru Bal Samiti that paid a 11-day visit to Russia returned to Delhi recently. It will give a performance of select items it performed in Moscow schools and other institutions at the Russian Centre of Science and Culture here on Friday.

The visit to Russia was aimed at strengthening Indo-Russian friendship among the younger generation. Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Ram Babu Sharma will be the chief guest at Friday's function.

Science exhibition

NEW DELHI: Apeejay School at Pitampura will host the regional level Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Science Exhibition this weekend. The exhibition will be inaugurated by eminent educationalist Prof. Yashpal, while CBSE Chairman Ashok Ganguly will be the chief guest.

As many as 200 Delhi schools will be putting up their exhibits under various categories including environmental management, industries and rural development, landmarks in science, information and communication technology in education, and mathematical models.

Seminar on safe blood

NEW DELHI: A two-day national seminar on "Safe Blood and Healthy Living -- Initiatives to Fight HIV/AIDS" will begin in the Capital this weekend.

The seminar is expected to be attended by over 100 doctors, technicians and social workers from various blood banks of the country. Delhi Finance Minister A.K. Walia will inaugurate the seminar being organised by the Rotary Blood Bank.
