HYDERABAD: In the light of the Supreme Court judgement that the reduction of cut-off marks in the Group-I examination from 66 to 61 was invalid, the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) has decided to call fresh candidates in the place of the 109 candidates who got benefited due to the marks' reduction. APPSC Chairman Y. Venkatrami Reddy told The Hindu that 109 benefited candidates who also attended interviews would now stand disqualified. They will not be eligible for appointments. In their place, the commission would call another 109 candidates who scored 66 marks in the preliminary examination and are behind the disqualified candidates in the order of merit based on Mains examination marks. Mr. Reddy said efforts would be made to complete the entire process in a month and results declared. He said as per the High Court judgement on physically-challenged reservation, seats reserved for them would be set aside and filled accordingly. "We are waiting from the Government on the number of vacancies for physically-challenged candidates," he said.
