Winning becomes a regular practice

25 BHEL employees win State Government awards again

TIRUCHI: Winning awards at both the national and the State level has become a regular practice for the employees of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Tiruchi.

A record number of 25 employees of the BHEL, Tiruchi, have won the Tamil Nadu Government's `Uyarntha Uzhaipalar Viruthu' for the years 2003 and 2004.

The award is being given by the Government every year to the employees who contribute significantly to the organisation by way of suggestions to improve productivity, quality and cost effectiveness. For 2003, T. Kamaraj, chargeman, BHEL, Tiruchi, won `A' Class award of Rs. 5,000 and a citation. M. Sundaram, foreman, and C. Raja Karthikeyan, senior quality control engineer, bagged the `B' Class ward of Rs. 3,000.

Two teams, the first one comprising A. Selvaraj, rigger, S. Aramudhan, manager, B. Vadivalagan, deputy manager, and A. Andrew, senior manager and the other comprising Ramakrishnan, technician and A. Rathinam, deputy manager, won the `B' Class awards.

The team of M. Sundaram, C. Raja Karthikeyan and R. Selvanathan, senior contracts engineer, won the `C' Class award of Rs. 1,000. H. Vairamani, fitter and M. Sundaram won the individual `C' Class awards.

For the year 2004, C. Bose, master technician and S. Savaridoss, foreman won the `B' Class award.

Also T. Rajendiran, chargeman, and S. Meikandadesikan, senior technician won the `B' Class award. R Ramalingam, senior technician and N. Rajan, technician, have won individual `C' Class awards.

State Labour Welfare Minister T.M. Anbarasan presented the awards at a function held at Chennai recently.
