Onam fete on Sunday

HYDERABAD:
The Kairalee Samajam at Mettuguda, a socio-cultural association of Keralites, is organising its Onam celebrations on September 17 at Rail Kalarang, Bhoiguda, from 10 a.m. onwards. APSACS project director G. Ashok Kumar will be the chief guest while eminent film personality Murali Nair will be the guest of honour.
The celebrations will include cultural programmes like Kaikottikali, Theyyam, Pulikali, Kolkali, Margam Kali, etc and a variety of other entertainment programmes, which will be followed by a `Onasadhya.' Meanwhile, the Kerala Arts and Cultural Association, Ramanthapur, celebrated Onam on September 10 at the Y-Linga Reddy Function Hall, Ramanthapur, with a variety of cultural programmes including `panchavadyam', `chenda melam' and Mohiniattam. A large number of Keralites from the twin cities participated in the celebrations, which were followed by a traditional Kerala Onam feast.
