HYDERABAD: Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy has directed officials to spruce up and provide a facelift to Mecca Masjid and Royal Mosque in the city before the start of the holy month of Ramzan. It has been also decided to accord permission to Muslim employees working in all Government departments to leave offices one hour before the scheduled time during Ramzan. Reviewing arrangements for Ramzan at a meeting attended by Ministers -- Mohd.Ali Shabbir, Mohd.Fareeduddin, K. Jana Reddy and Koneru Ranga Rao, Chief Secretary J. Harinarayan and other senior officials here on Thursday, Dr. Reddy instructed the officials to ensure peace, religious harmony and extend all the facilities during Ramzan and the festival day of Id-ul-Fitr. He stressed the need for taking elaborate steps as Dusshera and Diwali were also falling in the same month. According to a press release, Dr. Reddy directed officials to supply drinking water from 4 a.m. to 6 a.m. on all days during the month of Ramzan and from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Id-ul-Fitr. . He wanted to ensure uninterrupted power supply at Masjids.
