Students organise blood donation camp

Staff Correspondent

MANGALORE: Students of MBA Management Club, Aloysius Institute of Business Administration, St. Aloysius College organised a blood donation camp at the college auditorium here on Thursday.

Francis Serrao, Rector, St. Aloysius Institutions who inaugurated the camp lauded efforts by students to organise this event for a worthy cause and added that voluntary blood donation was very beneficial. Sharath, physician, from Udupi, highlighted the benefits of donating blood regularly and urged the students to donate their blood without fear.

Dr. Sharath said it was unfortunate that people found it difficult to obtain blood during emergencies.

It would always be helpful to have a readymade list of volunteers drawn from all blood groups, he added.

In all, 156 people volunteered to donate blood on the occasion. Lions International Districts 324-D5 and 324-D4 sponsored the event.
