ICC Champions Trophy on display

KOCHI: The ICC Champions 2006 trophy will be on display at the Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium here on Friday from 12 noon to 8 p.m. The trophy has been brought to Kochi as part of a select city tour organised by Hutch. A preview session of ICC Champions Trophy 2006 will be held at the stadium on the occasion. The cricket matches for the trophy will be played from October 7 to November 5. — Staff Reporter

Inter-school quiz

KOCHI: The city-level preliminary rounds for the all-India Inter-School Quiz organised by HelpAge India will be held on Friday. The written test will be held at House of Providence, near Vidyaniketan College, Kacheripady. One team each from Kozhikode, Kochi, Kottayam and Thiruvananthapuram will qualify for the State final to be held on September 21 in Thiruvananthapuram. The regional-level finals will be held in Hyderabad and the national final in New Delhi. — Staff Reporter

Cyber crime: man arrested

KOCHI: The Ernakulam Town Central police arrested one person on Thursday on the charge of cyber crime and extortion. The police said the Cyber Crime cell in Bangalore had registered a case against Anil Rajan Nair of Karuthedath Veedu, Changanassery, for hacking the web site of LIS and posting wrong information and creating a duplicate web site of the same. The Ernakulam Town Central Police were also on the lookout for Anil Nair who was accused in a case of attempt to extort money from a city-based businessman. — Staff Reporter

Session on autism

KOCHI: An interactive session on autism for parents of autistic children will be held on Sunday at A.J. Hall, Kaloor. The workshop will be part of the third national conference of the Indian Academy of Paediatrics Childhood Disability Group, which will start on Saturday at Hotel International here. — Staff Reporter
