THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister for Education M.A.Baby has announced here that the Central Polytechnic, which is celebrating its Golden Jubilee, would be made a centre of excellence. He was speaking after inaugurating a building to house the Library and Information department of the polytechnic. The building was constructed at a cost of Rs.29 lakhs. Mr.Baby said on Wednesday that the technical education sector was crucial to the growth of the State. He said the Government was convinced that it needs to promote more institutes as centres of excellence. Minister for Law M.Vijayakumar said the Government was trying to introduce fundamental reforms to make higher education accessible for all.
