Kumaraswamy chooses not to react

Special Correspondent

BANGALORE: Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy sees no reason for dropping Minister for Forests and Environment C. Chennigappa on the basis of the purported evidence claimed by the suspended BJP MLC G. Janardhan Reddy who has released a video compact disc in that regard.

"I will not bother about the VCD or tapes. I do not want to react to it," said Mr. Kumaraswamy. On behalf of the Chief Minister, the Government has filed a criminal defamation suit against Mr. Reddy for levelling the bribe-taking allegation against him. He said a Judicial Commission of Inquiry had been appointed.

The Chief Minister said the matter was sub judice. "In that context, I do not want to react (to the release of the VCD)," he said.
