Staff Reporter

CBI made respondent in one of them

BANGALORE: The suspended Bharatiya Janata Party MLC G. Janardhan Reddy, who has sought a Central Bureau of Investigation probe into the bribery charges against Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy and two of his Cabinet colleagues, on Thursday filed two applications before the Karnataka High Court.

In the first interlocutory application (IA), he sought to implead the State Government as a party in the petition. Mr. Reddy has made the CBI a respondent.

Additional material

In the second interlocutory application, he sought permission of the court to file additional material such as the acquisition and transaction of property in Bangalore city in places, including Chandra Layout, by some family members of the Chief Minister and the companies under which some transactions were carried out.

He said he had CDs which contained details of these transactions and sought permission to hand them over to the court.

CBI probe

In his petition, Mr. Reddy had sought a CBI probe against Mr. Kumaraswamy, Minister for Home and Law M.P. Prakash and Minister for Forests C. Chennigappa and their relatives for offences under the Prevention of Corruption Act and the provisions of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Justice H.G. Ramesh adjourned further hearing on the case and the interlocutory applications till September 19.
