VISAKHAPATNAM: Mega star Chiranjeevi mesmerised his fans with his 15-minute address at the Port Kalavani stadium on Friday. Even as his die-hard fans from north coastal Andhra turned hysterical on seeing their hero, Chiranjeevi, who reached the venue amid tight security at 1.45 p.m., acknowledged the tumultuous welcome accorded to him by his followers by waving his hands and throwing flowers offered to him at those who were allowed to the venue on invitation sent by the Allu Ramalingaiah Hasya Kalakshetram. His address had three-pronged approach - to maintain his support base, continue service activities, including eye and blood donations, and make his new film, Stalin, a box office hit. The hero's visit to Visakhapatnam was timed on the eve of the release of Anjana Production's `Stalin.' Accompanied by his brother-in-law and film producer Allu Aravind and comedians Brahmanandam, Sunil and Dharmavarapu Subrahmanyam, he said he was moved by the love and affection showered on him by his fans by waiting for several hours braving heavy rain to see him.
Emotional note
Striking an emotional chord, he said "In fact, you have drenched me with your love and affection. You are the spirit behind my service activities and I hope all of you will spread the message of pledging eyes and organising blood donation camps." When the fans went on a slogan-shouting spree in support of the megastar, he said "Hats off to you. Without all of you, I would not have become a successful star. I am tired physically and mentally with the shooting of Stalin. Because of the request by Chiranjeevi Seva Sangham president M. Raghava Rao and secretary P. Sarath Kumar, I am here to unveil the statue of great comedian late Allu Ramalingaiah. Stalin is a class and mass picture which needs the support of all of you to make it a big hit." On arrival, Subrahmanyam and Brahmandam asked the crowd to give a standing ovation to their `darling' by addressing the mega star as `Stalin Chiranjeevi.' As the hero arrived at the venue three hours behind schedule, Roshanlal orchestra enthralled the audience with hit numbers of Chiranjeevi- starrerers. Rani Sailaja, a college student, who came from Anakapalle to the meeting, said "It's a dream come true for all of us to see our darling in person."
