NIZAMABAD: Tirumala Tirupati Devastanams board member P. Sudarshan Reddy, Bodhan MLA, has made a proposal in the first meeting of the newly constituted board to allocate required funds to revive and renovate old temples, which remained neglected all these years due to paucity of funds . Speaking on his felicitation organised by the District Youth Associations Federation at Nehru Yuva Kendra premises here on Friday, he said some people who were not aware of the TTD board functioning and Tirumala hills were indulging in `misinformation' campaign. He called upon the youth to fight against such `misconceptions and misgivings'. He said there would not be any adverse impact on the common devotees if the Tirupati laddu's price would be increased from Rs.10 to Rs.25 as the laddu had been sold at higher prices but only for those who wanted to purchase more on recommendations. Mr. Reddy said that a plan had been on the anvil to improve facilities in TTD Kalyana Mandapams and bring them closer to all sections of people. He would visit mandapams at Medak, Adilabad and Nizamabad to get to know the conditions soon, he said. Presiding over the meeting, federation district president Bobbili Narasaiah said all the students and educated persons should come forward to pressurise the Government for implementation of G.O. 610 for the benefit of Telangana youth. He recalled the agitation run by the Youth Associations' Federation for University in Nizamabad. DCC president Gadugu Gangadhar expressed his full support to the youth activities in the district. The youth associations were very active and pro-active to different programmes, he added. Federation State general secretary T. Rajasekhar urged the Government to provide employment opportunities to the youth. Nehru Yuva Kendra Coordinator T. Vidya Sagar Rao also spoke.
