Protest against appointment of Chief Secretary

Kochi: State general secretary of the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) E.T. Mohammed Basheer on Saturday protested against the Government's decision to remove Mohammed Riazuddin from the post of the Chief Secretary.

The decision revealed the Government's anti-minority stance. Such an act was cruel and unprecedented, he said at a press conference here. Mr. Riazuddin was appointed Chief Secretary during the tenure of the UDF Government. The then Leader of the Opposition V.S. Achuthanandan had protested against the delay in issuing the appointment order. He had alleged that the delay showed the anti-minority stance of the UDF Government.
