Datta Peetha issue to be discussed

Udupi: Higher Education Minister D.H. Shankaramurthy said on Saturday that the Datta Peetha issue would be discussed by the Coordination Committee of the Janata Dal (Secular) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

The Minister told presspersons here that the Government wanted to resolve the issue peacefully. Both the Hindu festivals and the `Urs' should be held there, he said.

Answering a question, he said the CDs released on the bribery charge made by the suspended BJP MLC, Janardhan Reddy, had no meaning at all. Neither the video images nor the audio was clear.

But the `Telgi CDs' were more important because Telgi's money, he said, had been used for anti-national activities.
