Several fever cases detected at Pallithottam

DMO orders launch of preventive measures


  • Emergency surveys undertaken in district
  • Spraying of pesticides and fogging being carried out in Pallithottam

    KOLLAM: District Medical Officer Elizabeth John Zacharia has issued orders to the Health Department to launch comprehensive preventive measures against epidemics in the district.

    In this connection, health inspectors have undertaken emergency surveys all over the district. The survey conducted in the Pallithottam coastal area in the city on Friday and Saturday identified several cases of fever.

    Based on symptoms noticed, the diseases suspected were chikungunya, malaria and dengue. People with fever have been advised to immediately have their blood serum tested.

    T. Baiju Kumar and Asramam Nandakumar, health inspectors, have said that more house visits, spraying of pesticides and fogging are being carried out in the area.
