Uranium project: innocent people not to be harassed

HYDERABAD: Home Minister K. Jana Reddy has assured a delegation of Movement Against Uranium Project (MAUP) that innocent persons would not be harassed in connection with the police cases booked for disturbances at a public hearing on the proposed uranium project at Thummalapalle village of Vemula mandal of Kadapa district on September 10.

Mr. Reddy gave the assurance in response to the request of the delegation that cases booked against innocent people be lifted, a press release said. The delegates told the Minister that people who attended the hearing opposed the project, putting forth scientific and logical arguments.
