THRISSUR: The last rites of musician Swamy Nadabrahmananda, also known as Thrissur P. Radhakrishnan, were performed at Aivar Madhom, Pambadi, on the banks of the Bharathapuzha in the border area of Thrissur and Palakkad districts on Saturday. His son, Sangeet Kumar, lit the funeral pyre. Leading personalities in the field of music and disciples of the musician were present at the Madhom. He was 80. Swamy Nadabrahmananda died at the residence of his son at Ramanadhapuram in Coimbatore on Friday noon. Born in Thrissur in 1929, he made significant contributions to music during his 38-year stint in different stations of All India Radio (AIR). He became a sanyasi in 2001.
