Double pole for Ashwin

CHENNAI: Ashwin Sunder captured both the grid positions in the experts Group `D' 4-stroke 80-100cc and 111-160cc categories for the Sunday's round five of the UCAL Rolon National racing championship to be held at the MMST track in Irrungattukottai.

He also clocked the fastest lap timings of 1:24.166 and 1:18.009 seconds respectively.

In the Group `D' 4-stroke for novices, M. Sudhakar secured pole in the 80-110cc class with the fastest lap timing of 1:21.577 secs, while R. Deepak topped the grid in the 111-160cc class by timing the fastest lap of 1:21.692 secs.

P. Rajini topped the grid in the Group `D' 2-stroke 111-150cc category for novices with a time of 1:16.761 secs. Group `D' 2-stroke 111-150cc category saw K. Umesh Babu in pole with a timing of 1:21.004 secs. In the mopeds category, K. Umesh Babu had the fastest lap timing of 1:30.938 secs.

In the Group `D' 4-stroke 111-160cc category, Ashwin's domination continues as he leads with a total of 149 points.
