SAPPORO (Japan): A lapse in concentration midway through the round and a closing bogey saw Jeev Milkha Singh slip from a position of contention to a modest tied 19th after the third round of the 100 million yen ANA Open golf on the Japan Tour. Jeev shot a one-over 72 with three birdies and four bogeys. Overnight leader Tomohiro Kondo (73) shared the top spot with Yoshinobu Tsukada (68) at eight-under 205. At Farmington (USA), Arjun Atwal had another disappointing tournament on the USPGA Tour as he withdrew from the 84 Lumber Classic after a seven-over 79 in the first round. The latest missed cut meant Atwal has failed to make it to the weekend in 17 out of 27 starts and his hopes of ensuring a full card for 2007 still seem to be under a cloud. The best round of the second day was a five-under 67 posted by Ryan Moore. Moore and Ben Curtis (70) share the lead at the midway stage, when the talk centred around yet another missed cut for 16-year-old Michelle Wie. This is the sixth straight time on the PGA Tour that she has failed to make the cut. Wie shot a second-round 81, finishing 13 strokes short of making the cut and 23 behind Moore and Curtis, who were at 9-under 135. No woman has made the cut in a PGA Tour event since Babe Didrikson Zaharias in 1945. Wie was last among the 120 players who completed two rounds. PTI
