Hyderabad: Host Hyderabad entered the final of the all-India Moin-ud-dowla Gold Cup cricket tournament defeating India Cements by virtue of its first innings lead, while the result of the match between Mumbai and Chemplast could not be decided as the teams could not complete their first innings due to rain. Play was extended to reserve day on Sunday. After bundling out India Cements for a paltry 116 on Friday, Hyderabad made 81 for the loss of one wicket in the possible 19.3 overs in the second innings. Hyderabad advanced on the basis of its 146 run first innings lead.
In the other semifinal, Mumbai after making a moderate score of 206, hit back as Chemplast slumped to 158 for five in 60 overs. Hemang Badani batting on 70 (171b, 6x4) and Satish 56 (105b, 5x4) were the main scorers.
In case the extended play on reserve day is not completed, the result will be decided by spin of the coin as per tournament rules.
